How to Make Your iPhone / iPod Touch on iOS 4 Faster

How to Make Your iPhone / iPod Touch on iOS 4 Faster n this video, I give you a step by step tutorial on how to Make iPhones & iPod Touches on iOS 4 Faster. A lot of users have been complaining about the speeds of their iPhone 3G’s and iPod Touch 2g’s on the new iOS 4 update. Everything on those devices gets ridiculously slow when you update to iOS 4. The only application that isn’t slowed down too much is Safari, and web pages do load faster with the new update. If you’re just sick of the speeds, this tutorial is going to be good for you. This isn’t recommended on iPhone 4′s, iPhone 3GS’s, or iPod Touch 32GB/64GB’s because this won’t make too much of a different. On iPhone 3G’s and iPod Touch 2G’s, go to Settings to General to Home Button to Spotlight Search to and then uncheck all the searches that you don’t use. This will increase the speed of your device. On iPhone 4′s, iPhone 3GS’s, and iPod Touch 32GB/64GB’s, go to Settings to General to Spotlight Search to and uncheck all the searches that you don’t use. This will make your devices faster, surprisingly. — Original Source: Modmyi: modmyi.com Thanks Psnarmedps3 for the video suggestion: www.youtube.com

Did not help for me :-( Still incredibly slow! Tried restarting it – no difference. Turned it off now and will leave it off for a while to see if that makes any differences…. If it doesn’t I guess I will have to wait for an update from Steve – or just revert to OS 3….

@ShaunieceCooks Also, the iPhone app store is definitely better than the android app store, the android app store isn’t bad though. There’s also an ipod like app on android.

@ShaunieceCooks Which network are you on? I’m guessing AT&T. They’re both good phones, I know a lot of people just don’t like touch screen keyboards. I’m personally an iPhone user and like my phone, the mytouch slide is also a great phone, the specs aren’t going to be as good, but if you really do want a qwerty keyboard then that will have to be the best option. If you’re willing to switch to another network, Verizon is releasing a Droid 2 with a qwerty keyboard. (cont)

This is a great tutorial, thank you for sharing your knowledge! I have one question though, I want to get a new phone for my birthday and I’m having trouble deciding between the Iphone and the Mytouch Slide? I like the Iphone because of all of the application and the built in ipod, and I like the mytouch because it has a QWERTY keyboard, and its apps too , which is better?
    Thanks for your help!

    If jailbreaking

    Step 1: Disable custom wallpapers
    Step 2: Disable Multitasking

If you jailbreak these are automatically selected, they can slow it down a significant amount.
